9-22-10 Do we take His grace for granted?

Peter Penrose has a song called Farther than your grace can reach.   The message is that nothing we do can take us “farther than your (His) grace can reach”.   That is such a true statement but, it leads me to the question of whether or not we take that for granted (much like we do many people in our lives). Romans 6 gives us a word on this: What shall we say then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! (NIV) We think that sin is this or that, the major things; fornication, adultery, thievery, blaspheming God, murder, etc.   Yet, sin is anything that distracts us from God. The closer we get to Him the more we should become aware of “little” sins that keep us from being like Him.   Nothing ‘hides us from His eyes” and we “cannot fall or climb farther than (His) grace can reach” but that does not give us a license to do as we please.   As we “died” to sin and accepted Him as our Savior our purpose is to strive to be li...
