2-22-12 To busy looking down to see what’s right in front of
you!
I was looking for a parking place at work. I was looking down the drive aisle of parked
cars to see if there was an empty spot.
I decided there might be so I went to go down the aisle and I look and
there is an empty spot right in front of me!
I was so busy looking “down” that I missed what was right in
front of me!
There’s a message here somewhere.
A message about keeping our eyes on what’s in front of us,
on Jesus, on the goal.
A message about keeping our eyes open to possibilities,
especially ones that are staring us in the face.
A message about not looking “down” but “up” and forward
toward the one directing our path.
A message about being so absorbed that we miss the obvious.
A message about looking in the wrong place for
something. Why is it we always find what
we’re looking for in the last place we look?
Duh! Because we found it!
An event of the past was just brought to mind. I was looking for pictures of elephants for
my daughter. Don’t remember why. Don’t remember if I was specifically looking
for a calendar or not. After going all
over town, I found a calendar at the flea market. If I remember right, it was the closest spot
to my house of all the places I’d been.
I asked God why He hadn’t told me I could find it there and He told me
because I didn’t ask. Ouch!
Lord, what am I missing today because I’m not looking in the
right spot? Open my eyes and spirit Lord
to your leading!
