1-18-16 Kingdom Revelation

1/18/16 Kingdom Revelation
Jesus said the Kingdom is here.
Mat 4:17  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Because Kingdom is all about relationship.
Rev 21:3  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
Rev 21:22-23  And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
For His name is Emmanuel – God with us.
Mat 1:23  Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
The Holy Spirit is in us, so He is with us even though He returned to be beside the Father.
Luke 17:20-21  And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Because of a close personal/intimate relationship, we take on His character, i.e. do the things He did/does, i.e. have the power to change/transform the world around us.
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Luke 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luke 24:49  And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Acts 1:8  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Healing came because of the people’s desire to seek what Jesus had.
Mat 9:20  And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
Mat 14:36  And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
Mat 15:22  And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
Mat 8:5  And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
Deliverance came because of His presence.
Mat 8:28-29  And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.  And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
We are to carry His presence.  His presence dispels evil.  It can’t be in the same place. Much like light dispels darkness.
Mat 5:15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
All the darkness of the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle, yet one candle can illuminate all the darkness. - Jewish Hanukah Prayer
So therefore many “candles” will dispel more darkness.  The light exposes that the darkness exists.  Much as the law’s purpose was to expose that sin existed.
Rom 5:13  (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Rom 7:7  What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
God's light is making people attracted to us. People are attracted to us much like a moth to a light/flame. Why are moths attracted to light? I found an answer here: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=A0LEV7r_qpxWnhYAnkEnnIlQ;_ylu=X3oDMTByMjB0aG5zBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw--?qid=20070421182451AAZJgSi - To understand this phenomenon, you need to know about phototaxis. Phototaxis is an organism's automatic movement toward or away from light. Cockroaches are an example of a negatively phototactic organism. You've probably noticed how they scurry back into dark corners and crevices when you illuminate their late-night snacking party in your kitchen. Moths are positively phototactic. They seem charmed by your porch light, your headlights or your campfire (even if it leads to their untimely demise).
I thought this first paragraph was profound when you think about moths in a "friendly" manner and roaches as evil and dirty. How moths are attracted but roaches run and hide. That's the enemy for you, confront him and he'll run and hide. He can't stand up to the light of God!

1-18-13 Jeus in disguise

1-18-13 Jesus in disguise This is the refrain running through my head this morning – “Jesus in disguise, Jehovah passing by,” They were looking for a King they would never recognize – various lines from a song by that name by Brandon Heath.   If you look at the lyrics of the song – obviously – they were not in my head exactly right. As in the past they were looking for Messiah to come to rescue them from the oppression.   Since they were looking for him to be a certain way, they missed him when he came. In Luke 24:13 – 32 two of the disciples were walking when a man started walking beside them.   It wasn’t until he left them that they realized it was Jesus. I submit to you that Jesus appears to us in many forms.   Mt 25:35-40 says that we clothed him and fed him when we did it unto others (paraphrasing). Another line from this song says “open my eyes wide as I can, blind as I am” I can feel the Lord pretty much always, so there was a time ...

1-6-14 What is holding up your promise?

1-6-14 delay is not denial - what is holding up your promise Gen 15:16 ... the sin of the Amorites ... Gen 10:15 Sodom and Gomorrah were among the lands of the Amorites. Gen 18:20 says the people were extremely evil. 19:5 gives clear understanding as to their sin. Back to 15:16 it took four generations for the sin "to run its course" so that Abraham's descendants could return to the land they were promised. the delay in your promise may be being caused by someone/thing else occupying the space reserved for you.

1-27-16 The Water Wheel

The Water Wheel 1/27/16 I saw an image in my head of a water wheel.   You know how a water wheel is in a ditch of water.   Well there was a person trying to climb out of the water by climbing on the water wheel.   Of course every time he stepped on the wheel all he succeeded in doing was making the wheel turn and go down, back into the water.   Someone suggested turning the motor on and letting the wheel do the work. There are a couple of key points here. First is about trying to do things on our own.   And about how that is counterproductive.   You see the way a wheel works is to turn and scoop up water and then dump it onto another wheel that turns at a sideways angle in order to turn the wheels inside the house in order to grind the meal.   Therefore its movement would be in an upwards direction and when someone is trying to climb on it, they are moving it counter to its intended movement, downwards.   So doing things in our own...
